Buses are vehicles used to carry passengers along a designated route. They are a form of public transport operated by the MTA, along with commuter rail and rapid transit. The MTA operates 322 bus routes, which consist of routes for all five boroughs of New York City, including local, express, and Select Bus Service routes. The MTA operates 5,725 buses, under the MTA Regional Bus Operations agency.
